Online Coaching: 3 Steps to Create an Irresistible Brand
Are you an online coach who wants to create a strong brand presence? With so many coaches out there, it can be challenging to stand out and attract clients. But video marketing can help you create an irresistible online coaching brand that sets you apart from the competition!
As a coach who has successfully used video to grow my own brand, I want to share my expert tips on how you can do the same. In this article, you’ll learn how to use video to create an irresistible online coaching brand that helps you attract your ideal clients.
Why Video Marketing Is Critical for Online Coaches
Video marketing is a powerful tool for online coaches for several reasons.
First, video allows you to showcase your personality and brand in a way that written content simply can’t match. By using video, you can show your clients who you are, what you stand for, and what you can do for them.
A lot of coaches love podcasting, and I love to listen to them myself. But video helps the prospect get to know you even quicker than audio alone. and compare that to blogging, where the reader only has the written word. It takes a lot longer to establish rapport with the reader when there is no video and no audio. Blogging will take the longest, podcasting is next, and video takes the least amount of time to establish a real connection with your prospect.
Second, video is highly engaging and can help you connect with your audience on a deeper level. When people watch a video, they feel like they know you better and are more likely to trust you and want to work with you. You can be entertaining, or you can be educational. you can even be both at the same time! you can teach a concept and make it interesting so that people are hanging on your every word.
I especially love YouTube because I can make videos that are longer than 10 minutes quite easily. and if the viewer watches more than 50% of my video, then YouTube considers that a win. the algorithm will expose that video to more people in the future because they are receiving positive engagement signals. the longer the video, the more minutes of watch time I can potentially get if I am able to hold their attention for a while.
Third, video is incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways to promote your coaching business. You can use video to create social media posts, blog content, email marketing campaigns, and even online courses or webinars. I created my entire digital course in 2018 using video. I recorded videos in my home office and edited them to take out any mistakes. I recorded my next program the same way but had someone else do the editing. I can even go live and download the recording, do a webinar, or hold a meeting in Zoom and save the recording.
The reason I love you so much is that I can teach a concept in a 5 to 10-minute-long video. my student can watch that video over and over again if they need to. they can listen to it while they’re driving. they can let it play in their earbuds while they are grocery shopping. or they can be watching it on their phone or computer and actively taking notes. they can absorb the information in whatever way best suits their needs, and they can do it more than once. when they are able to really absorb the information I am providing, they are better able to implement those strategies and get faster and better results in my programs.
How to Create an Irresistible Online Coaching Brand with Video
Now that you understand why video marketing is critical for online coaches let’s dive into how you can use video to create an irresistible online coaching brand.
Step 1: Define Your Ideal Client
I feel like I have said this at least 3,095 times on this website and on my YouTube channel. You must have a niche. You cannot coach anyone on anything. Oh, you might be able to, but it will not help you sign more paying clients. So please, pick a niche!
Before you start creating videos, it’s essential to know who you’re creating them for. Who is your ideal client? What are their pain points, challenges, and goals? What do they want to achieve by working with you?
By defining your ideal client, you can create videos that speak directly to their needs and desires. This will help you attract the right clients and build a brand that resonates with them.
Step 2: Create Videos That Provide Value
Once you know who you’re creating videos for, it’s time to start creating content that provides value. Your videos should help your ideal clients solve their problems and achieve their goals.
For example, if you’re a health coach, you could create videos that share healthy recipes, workout routines, or tips for staying motivated. If you’re a business coach, you could create videos that share strategies for growing a successful business, increasing sales, or improving productivity. You don’t need to teach all of your proprietary secrets in your videos, but you can teach them the what and the why. Encourage them to enroll in your programs and hire you for the how.
Step 3: Be Authentic and Show Your Personality
One of the biggest advantages of video marketing is that it allows you to showcase your personality and brand. Don’t be afraid to be yourself on camera! Your clients want to work with someone they like and trust, and showing your personality can help you build that rapport.
Be authentic, show your personality, and don’t be afraid to inject a bit of humor into your videos. Just remember to keep it age-appropriate and professional. I am in my mid-fifties so yes, I crack a lot of jokes, but I do try to make them tasteful, and I don’t want my content to skew too juvenile. I am not looking to attract coaching clients who are 19 years old, as a rule.
My ideal client Avatar is a midlife woman just like me. The most unexpected thing I have learned from making videos over the last 5 years is that what you put out into the world, you attract. whatever type of information you share on your YouTube channel, whatever you talk about on social media, whatever personality traits you display on camera.. that is exactly what you will attract back to you. And it is pretty freaking awesome.
FAQs
Q: Do I need expensive equipment to create videos?
A: No! You can create high-quality videos with just a smartphone and a tripod. Just make sure you have good lighting and sound, and you’re good to go.
Q: How long should my videos be?
A: The length of your videos will depend on your content and your audience. In general, shorter videos (under 5 minutes) tend to perform better on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, while longer videos (10-20 minutes) are better suited for YouTube. However, the most important thing is to keep your content engaging and informative, regardless of the length.
Q: What should I wear on camera?
A: Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Avoid busy patterns or clothing that is too distracting. Solid colors or very small prints are best. It’s also a good idea to wear something that aligns with your brand’s colors and style.
